Introduction: John

One of my (Bethany's) favorite things is to watch my friends, family, and colleagues step into the emboldened and empowered transformation of God. I love to see their gifts shine for the sake of helping others see and know God better. It is my great pleasure to introduce to you the other writer and contributor you currently encounter here @lectioinlife from time to time:

John Horsley is a gifted teacher of scripture, passionate intercessor, and effective encourager. His call is to support and encourage pastors. He has a heart for reaching the people of this world who do not know God. John is passionate about evangelism and discipleship. He is a fantastic mentor and one of the best companions you could ever ask for in life--full of compassion, wisdom, and peace.

John believes the process of discipleship starts at the first connection we have with an individual and should continue as long as each person has a desire to know the Lord deeper. (That makes him a continuing disciple and learner right alongside those he shepherds and leads.) John recently retired from the coal mining business and enjoys horses, hunting, carpentry projects, and God’s beautiful creation. John is married to Angel and they have four children (all in ministry!): Candice, Trista, Autumn, and Jeriah. They are passionate about their 14 grandchildren and visit them often.
